FAQs
Q: Do you offer light, medium and dark roasts?
A: We roast coffees to be as sweet and clean as they can be, and we offer profiles that fit everyone's tastes. We do not categorize our coffee based on roast level but in general our single origins are light roast, most espressos and blends are medium roast, and select espressos and blends are dark roast. We currently only offer single origins and are developing blends.
Q: What is the difference between a blend and single origin?
A: Single-origin coffees are sourced from one specific place, whether family-owned farms, or communities served by farmer organizations. Blends showcase coffees from different regions that we combine with great intentionality so they can work in concert to highlight a distinct flavor.
Q: Do you have espresso beans?
A: Espresso is a method of brewing rather than a specific bean or roast as commonly misunderstood. Most of our coffees make a delicious single origin espresso, however we are developing a blend that brings out all of the great flavors that we enjoy in espresso.
Q: Do you offer half-caf?
A: Half caf is a blend of fully caffeinated and decaffeinated beans. This is not something we currently offer but if there is enough of a demand for it we will create a blend!
Q: Can my coffee be ground for me?
A: At this time we are only offering whole bean.
Q: How long is your coffee good for?
A: We recommend our coffee to be consumed within two months of the roast date. For peak freshness, we recommend five to seven days off roast and up to three weeks thereafter.
Q: Is the coffee organic?
A: Some of our offerings are organic and some aren’t. The organic coffees are noted in the description, if one doesn’t specifically say that it is organic it most likely is not.
Q: Is you decaf Swiss water processed?
A: Our decaf is sugar cane process. This process uses ethyl acetate from raw sugar cane to to naturally remove the caffeine instead of the harsh chemicals used in the standard decaffeination process . The beans are steamed to open the pores, then introduced to the ethyl acetate which attaches to the caffeine. The beans are then steamed again to release the ethyl acetate and caffeine and all traces of EA are removed. This process preserves the flavor of the coffee better than any other method and does not use harmful chemicals to remove the caffeine.
Q: Do you offer local delivery or pick up?
A: We do not, however all of our products ship for free and are typically delivered within 5 business days of when you place your order.
Q: Can I have my coffee delivered on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis?
A: Absolutely! We never want you to run out of your favorite coffee, that is why we have several subscription options for you to choose from. You can check out the subscription options for each blend directly from the product page.
Q: What kind of water should I use?
A: The water you use drastically affects the flavor outcome of your coffee! The best water to use is either spring water or distilled water as they have the least amount of flavor. If your tap water has chlorine or other purifying chemicals in it, these flavors will clash with the coffee flavors and result in a very mediocre cup of coffee.
